Greenwood

Greenwood by Michael Christie is a novel centered on the future loss of forests and humanity’s relationship with trees. This book cover design explores those themes through a typographic approach, where the letterforms are treated as lone, standing trees. The typography becomes both the title and the imagery, visually reflecting the isolation and fragility of forests in the future.

The objective of the design was to create a cover that feels quiet, reflective, and symbolic, allowing the concept to communicate the book’s message without relying on literal illustration. The result is a minimal yet evocative cover that reinforces the novel’s themes of environmental loss, resilience, and memory.
