Bushwack Magazine
Bushwack is a magazine centered around the culture and experience of tree planting. The goal of this project was to create a publication that authentically represents the grit, humour, and camaraderie found in the bush. The magazine needed a visual identity that felt raw and expressive, moving away from polished editorial norms to better reflect life on the block.
The design embraces a fun, grungy, and illustrative style, using hand-drawn elements and bold layouts to capture the energy of tree planting. As a personal project, Bushwack serves as a love letter to the bush celebrating the people, stories, and environments that define the planting experience, while creating a publication that feels honest, lived-in, and community-driven.
